STAYING PRODUCTIVE: I ALWAYS HAVE SO MUCH TO DO
Here's a secret... my work weeks look something like:
- delivering 40-45 1-on-1 coaching sessions,
- instructing 7-8 group fitness classes,
- managing a client base of 42 wonderful women,
- devising exercises programs, writing up nutrition plans and guidelines, checking in with all 42 of those wonderful women weekly,
- and boring business stuff (numbers, tax, counting, records, ew)
= about 65 hours every week
SO, as you can see, to make sure I stay on top of my workload, deliver the absolute best service that I can to my clients, and to stay sane, I have to make sure my time is managed hella efficiently!!!
My top 5 productivity tips (they work… trust me)
1. Turn your phone to 'do not disturb'. The BEST thing I ever started doing for myself. Keep your phone on for when it's needed, don't let socials and messages distract you. I turn mine on every night about 8pm and whenever I'm in session.
2. Invest in, and treat, yourself regularly. My NUMBER 1 personal expense is self-development.
I invest weekly therapy (from both a psychologist AND from a life coach); remedial massage, books on personal growth/self development, yin yoga classes, taking myself out on dates. YOU and YOUR BRAIN are worth investing in, and that investment gives you so much more back.
3. Set yourself deadlines and time limits. NOTHING gets done if you don't put a time on it. If it's on your to-do list, it should have a due day next to it **more later.
4. Carve out specific time for tasks. TIME BLOCK! EVERYTHING! When you eat, when you train, when you coffee, when you rest, when you walk, when you see friends, when you complete tasks, when you run errands, when you're working. Don't let yourself have time wondering what to do.
5. KEEP AN UPDATED TO DO LIST. Everything, quite literally, goes on my to do list. Reply to X email, get lunch from fridge, drop merch to Steph, write programs for XXX, buy petrol, calorie configuration for Jess, call mum. It all goes on there, in different categories, and with due dates, and time blocked. The most satisfying thing is to tick it off.
